My ideal vacation would be spending a week far away, by myself, in a cabin, with a stack full of books. I would need nothing but the comfort of words, nature, and tea.

I got this for Christmas last night. The caption on the front reads, “a tale-partly about life, partly about revolution and lots about hope, for adults and others (including caterpillars who can read.) I read it this morning while lounging around the house and it’s become instantly one of my favorites. The back says it’s “a different sort of book for everyone except those who have given up completely and even they might secretly enjoy it.” If you haven’t heard of this I highly recommend you check it out. Merry Christmas :)
It’s That Time Of The Year
I read an article today about random people paying off people’s layaways that were filled with toys. It seriously made me have tears in my eyes. To think that people are so generous to pay off random strangers’ bills reminded me of the true meaning of Christmas. I wish I could donate everything I have to children who are suffering and admire the anonymous “layaway angels” a great deal. I also read an article about a reindeer being in the middle of a highway in northern Ohio. It had a red collar and everything. Ha. It’s the Christmas season and I absolutely love it.
So Excited…
That I just ordered my book for The Sketchbook 2012. My aunt and cousin are doing it also and I cannot wait to get it in the mail and begin working. And speaking of my aunt… I’m recently read a letter from here that said, ” I know you are in a scary place right now, just starting your career. Look at it with wonder and excitement. It takes a long time to build a successful career- that’s how it’s meant to be. It might take a few ‘experiments’ to find your dream job, but don’t give up the search and you’ll find it. It creeps up on you while you’re just enjoying your work. You’ll do fine. ” I’ve been looking at my whole life that way lately… looking at it as not scary, but full of wonder and excitement and I have to say it’s making everything look a whole lot better :)
